American Flamingo Print

$25.00

This acrylic painting celebrates the flamboyant elegance of the American Flamingo, created from a photograph I took at Zoo Tampa. The bird’s vivid pink plumage, graceful neck curve, and distinctive downward-bent bill are rendered with expressive brushwork and subtle tonal layering. Its posture is poised and serene, capturing the flamingo’s quiet confidence and social charm. A simplified background ensures the bird remains the focal point, allowing its saturated hues and sculptural form to shine.

This high-quality print is reproduced from an original acrylic painting, capturing the vivid colors and intricate details. The artwork measures 8×10 inches and is printed on archival fine art paper, ensuring long-lasting durability and a professional finish.

The zoo participates in over 100 species survival programs and has cared for more than 600 manatees since 1991. Its mission centers on rescue, rehabilitation, and release, while also inspiring visitors to take action to protect wildlife through education and immersive experiences.

About the American Flamingo

The American Flamingo is a large, highly social wading bird native to the Caribbean, northern South America, and parts of the Yucatán Peninsula. It’s the only flamingo species naturally found in North America. Known for its brilliant pink coloration—derived from pigments in its diet—the flamingo uses its uniquely shaped bill to filter-feed on small aquatic invertebrates. These birds breed in large colonies, building volcano-shaped mud nests and raising chicks in communal nurseries. With their stilt-like legs, sweeping necks, and synchronized movements, American Flamingos are icons of tropical wetlands and a favorite among bird lovers worldwide.
