About Me
I’ve always been an artist. From a very young age, I was constantly asking for art supplies as gifts for birthdays and Christmas. In high school, I eagerly took every art class available and even volunteered as a teaching aide to further immerse myself in the creative process. There was even one memorable summer when I chose to attend summer school solely so I could take another art class. When I reached college, though my passion for art remained strong, I shifted my focus more toward the history of art rather than its practice, and eventually stopped creating. It would be many years later before I finally picked up a brush or pencil again.
Once you become a full-time working adult, balancing the many demands life throws your way, finding uninterrupted time to create can be incredibly challenging. I’ve always been the kind of person who prefers to set aside hours at a stretch to work on a piece — I could never get going on a piece with just an hour here or there. Over the years, I’ve held many jobs and built a successful and rewarding career, but it wasn’t until I left the corporate world that my passion for making art truly reignited — and I’m so grateful for the decisions I made that led me here.
Now, I focus my time and energy on creating art in many forms — including paintings, photography, and the occasional digital piece. My work generally centers on the natural world, with a special emphasis on birds, which are a constant source of joy for me. I love visiting local trails to find inspiration firsthand. When my husband and I travel, we always make it a point to visit zoos, botanical gardens, charming main streets, and local parks — these places feed my creativity and inspire new work.
My main goal is to share my art and an appreciation of the natural world with others. If you feel drawn to my work and would like to bring some of that inspiration into your own space, I warmly invite you to visit my shop and find a piece that speaks to you.
