Birds Birding

“Birds Birding” brings the birds back into their element—grass underfoot, sky overhead, and just enough space for something to happen. These are not posed portraits, but moments caught mid-thought: a pause, a step, a sideways glance. There’s a sense of quiet intention in each scene, as if the bird has somewhere to be but isn’t in any particular rush to get there.

There’s a bit of cheekiness in the way they occupy the frame—self-possessed, slightly aloof, and entirely unbothered by being watched. They feel less like subjects and more like participants in their own small, unfolding stories. Grounded in real habitats but pared back to their essentials, the paintings leave room for personality to take over—letting each bird feel a little curious, a little knowing, and very much at home.
